David M. Sherman ’82, has been appointed co-director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, effective October 2016.

The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate is pleased to welcome three new alumni to the Real Estate Circle: Austin Khan ’04 and Richard D. Pretsfelder ’94 as Circle Leaders, and Anand Bhatia ’16 as a Circle Associate. 

On Monday, July 11th, 21 members from the Real Estate Association (REA) and the Family Business Club visited Silverstein Properties at the World Trade Center.

Christopher J. Mayer, Paul Milstein Professor of Real Estate, has been appointed co-director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate as of July 1. He assumes the role most recently held by Professor Lynne B. Sagalyn. Professor Mayer was previously director of the Milstein Center from 2003–08.

Daniel Liu ’17, Co-Vice President of Education, and Alec Maghami ’17, Co-Vice President of Alumni & Mentorship with the Real Estate Association (REA), have been awarded Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year.

Fourteen members of the Real Estate Association (REA) toured the Empire State Building with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), the brokers responsible for the building’s continued leasing.

Escaping the cold weather of New York City, the Real Estate Association (REA) of Columbia Business School traveled down to Miami on April 8th of 2016. Accompanied by Professor Lynne Sagalyn and Kristin Svenningsen, Administrative Director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, we embarked on a full day trek around the best real estate sunny Miami has to offer.

On Friday, April 29th, 2016, the Real Estate Association (REA) and members of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate toured 50 & 70 Columbus and met with Ironstate Development in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The 2016 Real Estate Alumni Reception was held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Columbia Club of New York, and was a celebration of Professor Lynne B. Sagalyn, as we honored her, and thanked her for her vision, dedication, and leadership. This annual reception is hosted by the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate and Real Estate Circle and sponsored by Goodwin Procter LLP.
